I had a look around on that site a couple weeks ago and got depressed. So many good ideas that got turned down by the committee.

Technic sets never really look “good.” Even the Porsche set is pretty unattractive. The “mess” of a R1200GS is pretty much par for the course for Technic - it looks fine for what it is.

Having said that... this one looks fantastic. I much prefer the sets that use “normal” LEGO bricks.

Truth. The only Technic set that looks good is the Bucket Wheel Excavator.
